Stamp Time

Ok so things are rolling now for Little Lane and it's all getting rather exciting.

Still about a month or two off from launching to the big wide world but here is a sneak peek of some of the goodness we have sorted.

Thank god for Etsy is all I can say (plus we are supporting other crafters). I found this awesome shop mycustomstamps that can create anything that you want. Couldn't be happier with the way they turned out and the tags and string were other Etsy purchases. Go Etsy!!

(sorry for the bad iphone photos)

Now we just need to get our sew on so that we have product to hang these little puppies from.

Till next time.

Spring is in the air

The sun is shining and the days are getting longer, but its still bitterly cold in the mornings. Hurry up and get here spring!!

So I have completed my pre-spring clean clean and now have 3 bags of clothing to take to Red Threads (Red Cross second hand shop on Oxford St Paddington). Honestly this place gets in some really cool wares but you have to get in quick. Tip from me: head in there on a Thursday as that's when all their new stuff hits the racks!

Anyway, I am off to NZ on Thursday and after looking at my wardrobe it was lacking the basic layering pieces. I saw this top in Sportsgirl a couple of weeks back and it never made it to the register with me, until yesterday! Its a great fit and really easy to pair with jeans or shorts (when summer arrives). Oh BTW if you are after an awesome fitting pair of jeans check out their Stevie Jeans - I have never worn something that fit so well and are uber comfy.

Knowing me I couldn't come out of there with one item, so I had to make an outfit of it and also picked up this super cute bag and necklace. All I can say is that I will never misplace this puppy as its super bright (even more so than the picture - think fluorescent coral). Love it!!!

I have never really been a fan of Sportsgirl but they have upped their game over the last couple of seasons and brought out some really well cut pieces.

What are you key spring pieces?

Till next time,

Ring ring!

Yay!! Love it when I get the email from our mail centre saying there is a package for me. Today my name ring arrived from Vietnam!

I found Names Ring through another blog and before I knew it I was at the checkout.

I've always wanted a dainty ring and this one fits perfectly.

Not only do the do rings, but bracelets and necklaces as well. Think I have sorted out all my Christmas presents for this year!

Till next time.

My go to weekend wear

So I have been starting to clean out my waldrobe as a bit of a pre-spring spring clean, there are certainly some items that haven't seen the light of day in a while and some that are always at the top of the pile.

For me it has to be my go to black jeans and a denim shirt, alternating between my black and grey ankle boots. I have to admit that the double denim look has grown on me, as long as its two distinct shades of denim then its ok in my books. Noone wants to be seen rocking top to toe acid wash (shudder).

What are your go to items?

Craftathon

So in the spirit of the Olympics I have been lining up all my projects (much like a pentathlon) to get through at Stitch n Bitch in a couple of weeks time.

I have been getting loads of inspiration at the moment from Pinterest (yes I am addicted). These are currently in my top 10.....

Chalkboard paint + silver trays = cool noticeboard

Been a while since I made some crazy critters - soon we will have a crazy baby critter in our family so I need to get my sew on

Great way to jazz up mugs as gifts or to personalise a mug for the office

Nothing but letters and white paint - one for those novice crafters.

I have loads of cutoffs and remnants of fabric lying around and this is a great way to use them up

Found a cute matryoska pattern that I have been meaning to cross stitch

Something to whip up quickly and it doesn't matter if you suck at painting as it adds to the charm

Been meaning to jazz up my sewing space for a while and this is a great way to display novelty sewing items

This is a little bit sewing little bit drawing - but looks a whole lotta cool

I have so many favourite songs that it would be hard to pick just one!

There seems to be a lot of things for the home - I'm in such a decorating mood and with spring just around the corner there is no better excuse to have an early spring clean.

Hope you all take away some inspiration from this.

Till next time.

Oh Betty your so fine....

What a weekend. Things were so cray cray!! Ergh I swear there are not enough hours in the day. I did get through my list of things to do however so it was a very successful weekend.

Saturday morning was spent 'speed dating' potential flatmates. Looking for a new flatmate is hard work, especially when you are after someone that you click with and don't mind sharing (aka messing up) your space. Have to admit there are some weird people out there.

I also managed to finish the dress that I have been working on. Cami (new flatie) has requested one for her b'day next month so will have to get sewing :) I also want to make another one for myself. Going to be a sewing machine for the next few weeks I think.

Sorry not the best pic (iPhone) - I decided to gather the waist in the middle and sew on a detailed brooch for a bit of added wow factor, I also added satin binding to the neckline.

Hyde park

Anyway it was such a gorgeous weekend here in Sydney, the sun was shining the birdies were singing and we did a bit of creative decorating in the flat. I've had all these pics scattered throughout the house for ages and have always wanted to do a picture montage on the wall. So Cami and I were bored on Saturday night and this is what we came up with.......

Now to work on getting a job that allows me to work from home so that I can stare at this all day :)

Till next time.

My week in pictures

There have been a lot of changes happening about the place at the moment, flatmates moving out, new flatmates moving in, people leaving at work (sob sob), and Sydney's weather (which just cannot make up its mind).

Playing with the morning sunlight in my room

What I see everyday when I walk to work - so pretty

Sydney harbour on a good day - one day later and it was bucketing down

Clean living - steamed chicken and mixed veg salad - nom nom nom!

Clean living treat - Vanilla soy yoghurt with LSA - oh so good!

Been getting my sew on - Betty is kindly modelling a dress that I am working on

Doesn't Betty look pretty - just the hem and sleeves to go and will post up new pic when it's done.

My missions for this weekend - get out for a run, do some sewing (my projects are starting to pile up), and of course play some hockey!!

Till next time

Made in Bali

I think I need to thank Pinterest for the latest purchase to hit my credit card. I came across these gorgeous shoes yesterday and when my eyes saw them I was in love.

BaliELF is an amazing shop based in Bali (hmm think the name says it) that makes the most exquisite leather works - namely shoes, purses, belts and bags.

They are called Native and come in a range of colour for only $90 USD (even less in AUD). What makes these puppies even better is that not only are you supporting the talented Bali artisan industry but they are made to order, so these babies will hopefully fit like a glove :)

Sooo there are loads of other items on here that would fit so well in my wardrobe (and with my new shoes), maybe i'll splash out for my birthday in a couple of months time and get a bag. I have my eye on this one (Bella $210 USD) which is leather outer and batik lining. Perfect companion for those lazy weekends outfits.

Is there anything on here that takes your fancy?

Till next time.

Bumps ahead

My gorgeous friend Trina at work is preggers and has been finding it hard to find nice comfortable clothes to fit her ever expanding bump.

So that's where Nicola comes to the rescue!

A pattern was selected out of my stash and off to Lindcraft we went one lunch time. She picked out this soft as a baby's bottom (sorry) stretch cotton jersey in a mid grey.

Betty has kindly modelled the finished product in Trinas absence.

Sorry these were taken in my iPhone and not the best quality

Might need to make some non preggy versions for myself as they were so quick and easy to whip up using my overlocker rather than trying to sew stretch with my machine (its a nightmare).

Till next time.

Kowtow Wow!

I came across this clothing company today and I was impressed.

Kowtow clothing is an NZ based company that prides themself on being environmentally and ethically sound. They produce some beautiful certified fairtrade organic clothing that is ethically and sustainably made from seed to garment.

Here are my picks of what I want in my wardrobe right now.....

Lucky Gazelle Top

Stargazing Jacket

Boundless Cardigan

Infinity Dress

Its made me really think about how my clothes are made and where the materials come from. Think I might need to go through my wardrobe and check a random sample to see where they are made.

Eeek I think I need to hide my credit card.......

Antho Goodness

Ok so today was a little busy at work and I needed to take some time out to stop and smell the roses - Anthropologie roses that is!

I am in love with the Anthropologie site as they always have amazingly beautiful peices.

Today (on sale might I add) I picked up 3 tops all funnily enough with something going on on the back.

Atzi Blouse - $49.95 USD was $98

How cute are these buttons?

Parquet Pullover - $39.95 USD was $78
Something to add a pop of colour to an outfit, I'm all about trying to inject colour this winter

Crossed Latitudes Top - $29.95 USD was $58
Plain low front with crossover back perfect throw on top with jeans and boots

Hmmm now to find some other layers this weekend.

Bay & Fyfe

So on Friday night I went to Sydney Fashion Weekend with the girls and tried not to get to carried away. It was an awesome night of shopping and giggles.

Big thank you goes out to Bay & Fyfe for the free tickets!! Whoot!! Also props to Frith as I found out she is a fellow Kiwi from just up the road. It's a small world.

Out of all my purchases on the night I have to say that I am super excited about rocking my new Horse print Bay & Fyfe scarf. The electric blue, pink and green are going to add an amazing pop of colour to my winter outfits.

Check them out on FB here Bay & Fyfe and http://www.bayandfyfe.com/.

Cannot wait to check out the new collection as from my sneak peek they are super lux!
