Mmmmm Moochi

I was super excited  to come across the blog for my all time fave boutique in Wellington - Moochi!!! Love their clothes as they are super comfy, well cut and very easy to wear.

Looking at their spring/summer collection it makes me want to book some flights home for some retail therapy.
Am loving their spring inspiration board.

Inspiration to start one for my summer gears.

Till next time.

Stitch 'n Bitch Round 2

This weekend was a serious stitch n bitch, well lots of stitching and not much bitching (that came later when we were watching the rugby - which we will not mention again).

One of the high points of the day was finally completing Marees dress, as you will know this is something that I have been working on for the last 2 months. Very happy Mazzy (not the best photos but gives you an idea). Will take some proper photos soon once its had a good iron :)

The girls in action.

Need to get my thinking cap on for what to make next. Since summer is just around the corner I am thinking some summery dresses.

Till next time.

Sew, sew, sew

This weekend has been filled with pirates and pretty dresses. I have been sewing like a mad women hence the pretty dresses, and pirates was just a spot of fun with my hockey team on Saturday night.

Just need to add the dome fastenings

Told you I was obsessed with paper bag style shorts and skirts, made this one reversible too.

Again a reversible pinny, as per the photo below.

Am getting there, all that I have left to do on this is the lining and hem!! So close to completion.

Well let me know what you think.

Till next time.

Whiff of Summer

I know I have been slack...oooops. Travelling for work sometimes sucks a big one, but catching up with the whanau makes up for it.

The other weekend I jetsetted off to Cairns to spend some good old quality time with my cuzzies. Whilst I was up there I got a hint of what it was like to be in a warm tropical climate! Bring on summer in Sydney I say, am so over the cold drab weather.

So, with summer on my mind I have a few ideas of what I would like to buy / make to suppliment my summer wardrobe.....

I am loving this print and the modest front yet flirtatious back

I saw a pair similar to these at the Fringe Bar markets that I might just need to go back for. Perfect to jazz up a simple summer outfit.

Topshop shorts (wish we had a store in Sydney)
Ok I am seriously obsessed with paperbag shorts and skirts at the moment. No doubt I will be making several pairs for this summer.

Oversize tshirts and top will never go out of style as they are perfect to throw on after a day at the beach. Love the pop of colour too.

Simple and classic styles that will work well for covering up after the beach or popping down to the local cafe.

Classic summer gears.

Well all this inspiration has me super excited that summer is just around the corner.

Till next time

Over the Moon

Short note to say that our business names got accepted!!!! So can finally reveal them to all you lovely people.

As we are doing two lines we thought that it would be fitting to have them cohesive. So without further adieu.....

The Lane Clothing (women's wear)

Little Lane (children's wear)

Was so excited when the letters came in the post yesterday that I did a little dance around my room, thankfully no one was home to hear me pounding on the floor boards.

On another note, I took myself off to the shops at lunch and picked up a couple of items to wear away to Cairns this weekend. On my super quick shopping trip I picked up a gorgeous cream long chiffon sleeveless shirt dress and a leopard print sleeveless chiffon shirt (pics to come).

Cannot wait for sun, sand and surf!

Till next time

Back on track

Well its been a while but I have been a busy bee getting my sew on. Rather than ramble on about it I'd rather show you......

Gillian has finally finish off the dress she has been making for her niece been in the works for a couple of months since the first Stitch n Bitch.

First prototype of one of the dresses for our children's collection.

Finally found the time to cut out Maree's dress from the real fabric. No going back now.

This is the final result - few minor alterations to get the fit spot on. Surprised that it only took me 1.5 hours to whip this up, when it took me almost a month to fit and cut it.

In need of a really good press

A little critter I whipped up as a leaving gift for Kelly's little man Max.

In other news the forms have been signed and posted!! Fingers toes and all other body parts are crossed in the hope that our business name gets accepted.

Well till next time (and hopefully not so long this time)
